Today, blockchain is a “hot topic” and not widely understood. Generally, there are two types of people in the blockchain space, the spectators, who think it is a fad or a “get rich quick” plan and the people who are more invested in the long-term potential of blockchain in our society.

When the internet was introduced no one quite understood it at first, and now we cannot imagine a world without it. Similarly, blockchain is discussed in everyday life, but no one quite understands how big of an impact it can and will have in the not-so-distant future. Adoption of blockchain will be tricky, and like all new technologies, users will need to feel like they can trust it and not fear it. Therefore, it is crucial that the user experience and design are heavily evaluated, and products must be crafted with the needs and want of the user in mind or else there will never be as great of a user adoption as needed. A more human-centered blockchain design can help attract and attain users.

Ultimately, the widespread adoption of blockchain will not be because the technology is not there, it will be because the design does not match the technology and people will be fearful. We need to remove that fear and instill acceptance and creating a great user experience is the answer
